Hi all - newish to the forum, joined 6 months ago and shamefully never got round to posting. Commuting regularly for the last 3 years, but was just getting into sportives last year until I got hit by a car and broke my collar bone, so the whole summer was wiped out. back on the bike after resting up properly and looking forward to spring and longer rides. Cheers Downhills
  1. Hello, new to the forum but looking forward to having a look around. I'm 46 and live near Doncaster in Yorkshire and started doing a bit of cycling last summer for cardio to go with my weight training and as my fitness started to increase I started to enjoy getting out on the bike more.
My teenage son has now started riding and has claimed my mountain bike as I've just purchased a Viking sports hybrid for myself and can't wait for it to get a bit milder so that I can get out on it. Until then I'm keeping up exercise for biking on a stationary bike indoors.

Hello everyone new to the forum but I have been reading for a while. Had a MTB for many a year and love cycling. Due to moving workplace I have a lovely 18 mile round trip commute for work and will be embarking on a Road Bike when it arrives. Cant wait for a new me as I have not done enough cycling in the last two years!!!!! Just bought a Felt F95 in monster green has anyone had any experience with this bike?

Evening all, just signed up here, as I'm about to purchase my first road bike, partly due to wanting to improve fitness, and partly to an over enthusiastic friend helping my move from fat tires to skinny ones! Just waiting he few days for a Specialized Allez Elite to arrive at my local shop...

I'm in east Manchester, so quite handy for getting into the Peak District, which I plan to do often.

  2. Just signed up here and am eager to get in amongst the cycling world once i've built my bike - I'm currently looking at a Cervelo frame on a bike stand and have collected a few parts to hopefully create something i'll be proud to ride. First off is to install the crank set (double Tiagra hollow tech) into the bottom bracket and am a little bit hesitant as i want to make sure i get it right. Any advice from those out there who do this on a regular basis ( i promise to post a photo of my creation upon completion)

  4. Hello, I am Alice. I recently set up a new cycling club called Passion for Pedalling. First ride was on Sunday in Richmond park, was fun and am in the process of arranging some new upcoming rides. Quite new to arranging rides so could do with some tips. I have a lovely new Garmin Edge 800 which is a fantastic help. Would love to know if anyone has plotted any good rides on Garmin Connect that I can steal!!! thank you

  5. Hi
I live in Cambridge and have been cycling since about 1967, I suppose. Did some TT in my teens and cycled ever since but mainly commuting and fun until this year when I'm training to do a charity sportive later in the year and do 100 miles in a day which for some reason I've never done before. Quite regular contributor to roadcc and play their Fantasy Cycling game. Looking to do some rides in the Cambridge area and will join my local club soon and maybe do some TTs again. Ride a Specialized Secteur.

Hi all, though I would join you guys to get some inspiration, coming back to cycling after a bit of a break. Been on the turbo trainer but need to get some mileage in for a few events this year, maybe even the Dunwich overnight ride, been on my list of things to do for ages and I'm not getting any younger!

    Hi, :welcome:

I know/knew someone who was born in Normal. Odd name for a town.

I don't suppose it's twinned with Barking is it? ^_^
