That i thought i would do it again..

The roads weren't damp, the temp was well above 5 degrees all day and i've taken this corner just as hard many times before. But it seems that some of the road was a bit greasy (look at my arm!) and cause my front wheel to loose traction.

I think I will upgrade the rubber on my front wheel, it's not the first time it's lost traction and this rubber isn't know for being grippy.

Gaz-that looks like you hit some fluid on the road. Perhaps diesel?

It was far too dark to tell.

Look at your vid and the reflection on the road just before you drop.

just looks like a pool of light on the road. no where near the detail or exposure to tell the difference between a dry or wet surface.

Got to be diesel. I don't know how it felt to you but it looks like the front end wobbles on the approach to the corner, well before you would be putting any significant lean on the bike. Of course, if you were there it might have felt a bit differently.

Looks like a case of leaning into the corner and left pedal whumped hard down onto the kerb and flipped the bike.

Just look how close he gets to the kerb *before* the wobble starts ... and if that camera is mounted on the right side of the helmet the real position in relation to the kerb is actually closer than it looks.

So don't blame the road ... blame your dodgy positioning. ;)

Conti gator hard shell. They are known to be slippery. Will probably whack a Vittoria Rubino on the front.
Nah, I run a long crank arm, It would have to be a very big lean to get pedal strike. Front wheel definitely slipped from under me.

    Ouch,

  1. Around here, since the snow melted, there's still a lot of slippery crud and grime on the roads that needs a good rain shower to be washed away. The roads look dry but are still slippery in places.

Looks nasty, would rather not find out myself but have to ask the question how do the clips unclip? Silly question I know but never figured it out.
